The CHR is responsible for planning, developing and implementing health promotion and health educational activities in line with the objectives of the Public Health program and NHCN Health Division.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of current health and social issues prevalent in an Indigenous community, specifically Norway House
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Effective research skills including ability to complete thorough client reports, files and drafting of correspondence
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of Personal Health Information Act
  • Experience with planning, organizing and facilitating presentations in person and through electronic (teleconference) mediums
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Under the direct supervision of Director of Health, a facilities manager is responsible of operating and maintaining the buildings and grounds of the NHCN Nanatawiwekamik HCE. The Facilities manager oversee building and the property on which it is located, and other buildings and extensive properties. Also is responsible for ensuring buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained

 

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • A degree in facility management, engineering, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Proven experience in facility management or a related role.
  • Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) can be advantageous
  • Understanding of building systems, including electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, contractors, and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills is required. Ability to quickly address and resolve issues that arise within the facility.
  • Experience in managing a team of maintenance staff and coordinating their activities.
  • Knowledge in business, budgets, financial forecasts.
  • Must have excellent communication and written skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a team player and able to provide operational reports.
  • First Aid and CPR training (up to date) required
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Knowledge of Cree culture and ability to speak Cree is considered an asset
